Travis Barker and DJAM In Plane Crash
Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam ‘DJAM’ Goldstein were critically injured in a private plane crash in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday (September 19), which killed four other people. Watch a video news report here.
Barker and Goldstein had performed at a free show with Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction and Gavin DeGraw prior to boarding the plane shortly before midnight at Columbia Metro Airport.
According to Lynne Douglas, public information officer for the airport, the twin-engine Learjet overran the runway striking antennas and several lights before crashing through a fence onto a roadway and stopping on an embankment where it burst into flames.
Eyewitness reports say the two musicians were on fire as they jumped from the plane and were seen patting each other down.
The pair were rushed to the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, with spokesperson Beth Frits saying they had “extensive burns.”
The four passengers killed have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, Barker’s assistant Chris Baker, 29, and Barker’s security guard, Charles Still, 25.
Investigations into the crash are underway.
