Pussycat Dolls Deny Britney Snub

Despite her scene in the new music video for the Pussycat Dolls' latest single "When I Grow Up" being cut, the girls have said they did not snub Britney Spears, as numerous reports suggest.

Speaking with Access Hollywood, lead singer Nicole Scherzinger explains, "She came out, she did a cameo. We love her, we're all huge fans of Britney, always have been. We totally support her. Not everything makes the final cut but we want to do something with her in the future."

Melody Thornton adds, "It's not a secret. There are a lot of things that you do that don't necessarily make the video and that didn't, for whatever reason."

Batman Breaks Records, and X-Files Fails

"The Dark Knight" continues it's box office dominance over the weekend, with the movie earning another $75.6 million to push it's total U.S. earnings to $314.2 million, while "The X-Files: I Want To Believe" made a disappointing $10.2 million.

In at second place is the Will Ferrel and John C. Reilly comedy "Step Brothers" making a respectable $30 million, "Mamma Mia" in third with $17.9 million followed by "The X-Files," which was reportedly made for only $35 million - comparatively small by Hollywood standards.

According to Gitesh Pandya from Rotten Tomatoes, "Audience erosion, direct competition from The Dark Knight, mixed reviews, and a weak marketing push all contributed to the lackluster performance," of "The X-Files" despite David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their characters.

"The Dark Knight" has become the fastest movie in history to cross the $300 million mark, cracking the figure in only 10 days and beating the previous record set by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," which took 16 days to cross the line.

Shia LaBeouf Busted on DUI

Shia LaBeouf is in trouble again and this time it's really serious. Sources say he's been arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Law enforcement sources tell us LaBeouf was involved in a car accident at about 3am at the corner of La Brea and Fountain in Hollywood. We're told Shia made a left turn in front of another car and the two collided, causing Shia's car to roll.

Paramedics were called to the scene and both parties were taken to a local hospital, but no major injuries were sustained.

LaBeouf was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony DUI after we're told he exhibited "outward signs" of intoxication at the scene.

Earlier reports have claimed that Britney is also distancing herself from her father. But the article notes that the problem is that without her parents, Britney is basically all alone. "I can't think of anyone who's close to her," says an insider. "I think Jamie saw what was happening to his daughter and went into this emergency lockdown mode, shutting out her friends. But that's a lonely way to live."

And it may even be a potentially harmful existence. "It's unhealthy because one way people learn about their lives and decide to make changes for the better is to get outside input and perspective," says Dr. Keith Ablow, a psychiatrist who does not treat Britney told the magazine. "A true friend could be a valued part of her life."

Khloe Kardashian ‘Learned A Good Lesson’ In Jail

Reality star Khloe Kardashian has said that she’s “learned a very, very good lesson” about drink driving, after serving three hours behind bars in a Los Angeles jail last Friday (July 18).

The 24-year-old revealed to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that during her short stay in the Lynwood women’s facility, the jail received a bomb threat.

“They put me in solitary confinement and the warden came down to talk to me and said, ‘You’re the one causing all the problems here,” Kardashian explained.

“‘There are all these bomb threats, and we think they’re because of you.’”

The star of ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s’ was sentenced to 30 days behind bars on July 3 for failing to complete the terms of her probation, stemming from a 2007 arrest for DUI.

Jay Leno To Part Ways With NBC

Jay Leno has revealed in an interview that he will definitely be leaving the NBC television network at the end of his contract in 2009, ending speculation about where he’s headed once he hands over his late night show to Conan O’Brien.


In one of the most highly-pubicized television moves in recent times, Leno discussed his future plans with USA Today,

saying, “I am definitely done next year - with NBC.”
Reports that the king of late night television is being heavily courted by rival networks are also true, Leno adds.
“I’m not a beach guy, and the last time I was in my pool was to fix a light,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I’ll find a job somewhere.”

LA is tough on crime

Khloe Kardashian entered and left Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood County, Los Angeles, on Friday (July 18) in 173 minutes, being released due to overcrowding.

The star of the reality show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, was sentenced to jail for violating her probation stemming from a DUI arrest in 200.

Karadashian was booked into the facility at 8:52am, entered the jail at 10:25am and was released at 1:29pm and must now enroll into an alcohol treatment program - the probation term she broke in the first place - within three weeks.

Batman Kicks Spiderman's Ass

"The Dark Knight" has set a new box office record, hauling in a whopping $155.34 million and beating "Spider-Man 3" as the biggest opening weekend of all time.

Starring the late Heath Ledger as The Joker and Christian Bale as Batman, the film set a new opening day record earning $66.4 million, again beating the record set by "Spider-Man 3", and also earned the best ever weekend in IMAX theaters taking $6.2 million.

Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros, said, “We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did,” adding that studio estimates put it passing the $200 million mark by the end of the week.

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom Still Together?

Gossip columns have been reporting that Australian model Miranda Kerr has split with her movie star boyfriend Orlando Bloom, however, the rumors are not true according to her family.

A story on the website of U.S. tabloid magazine In Touch states an ‘insider’ as saying the relationship is over and “that she has rebounded into the arms of her former flame, oil heir Brandon Davis.”

The article also claims that Kerr and Davis, “were spotted canoodling at two clubs in NYC” and were “full on making out. They didn’t seem to care who saw.”

A rep for the Victoria’s Secret model denies the split along with her brother Matthew, who was there when Kerr saw Davis at the club.

“We were just out with a few other friends from Australia having a good time and we bumped into Brandon while we were at 10ak,” Matthew explained. They have been friends for a while and we just said hi, chatted for a bit and that was it.”

He adds, “There definitely wasn’t any kissing - nothing could be further from the truth.”

Kerr’s mother has even made a comment on the rumors about her daughter telling News.com.au, “I realise there is an interest in people who are in the spotlight, but I just can’t believe how far from the truth it gets.

“Miranda and Orlando have never been closer and are happier right now more so than ever.”

Mena Suvari Gets Engaged

Actress Mena Suvari announced her engagement to music producer and concert promoter Simone Sestito on Wednesday (July 16).

Her rep confirmed the details saying he proposed during the couple’s recent trip to Jamaica, but no wedding date has been yet.

The pair met during last September’s Toronto International Film Festival where Suvari was promoting her movie ‘Struck.’

This will be the second marriage for the 29-year-old actress who was previously married to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann.

Alba's Relaxing Birth

The 27-year-old actress - who welcomed daughter Honor Marie into the world on June 7 - insists she exuded quiet strength during the natural labour and the whole experience was incredibly peaceful.

She said: "I didn't scream. It was really Zen. The labour was more like meditation. I did yoga breathing. I was focused. I ate a lot of soul food before she was born."

Jessica's husband Cash Warren added: "She didn't make a sound. It was amazing."

The 'Love Guru' actress also revealed she has already embarked on an exercise and healthy eating regime to shed her post pregnancy weight.

She told an American magazine: "I started working out last Thursday, but for 20 minutes. I do cardio on my own. I'm doing it slow. Now I'm starting to eat more healthy. Because after working out, having fried chicken and mashed potatoes is a little counteractive."

Cash is convinced Honor looks just like him, but he is worried his daughter will later develop Jessica's stunning features and he will have to deter numerous male suitors.

He said: "She looks like a girl version of me. She has my nose, my eyebrows and my forehead and dimples."

Jessica added: "She has my mouth when I was a baby. And my ears."

Jennifer Lopez Training For A Triathalon

Anthony disclosed during a recent interview that his wife Jennifer Lopez is training to take part in a triathlon later this year.

The Latin singer, who was promoting his concert series supporting children’s fitness called ‘Juntos en Concierto’, told tv’s Extra that, “Jennifer is training for a triathalon in October.”

When asked if he will be running along side of her, he replied jokingly, “No, but I’m great at supporting. I’ll be on my Segueway handing her water.”

No Punch In The Face For Paris

Paris Hilton has denied reports that she was punched in the face on Tuesday night while at a Los Angeles club saying, “It’s so not true.”

Hilton was at the Coco de Ville club with her sister Nicky and some friends when the alleged altercation occurred.

“It’s so not true,” Hilton told E! News. “I had a great time last night and didn’t even have an argument with anyone. I don’t know where they come up with this stuff.”

The heiress adds, “It’s a completely made-up story,” saying she thinks the rumor was “Maybe publicity for the club. It was my first time there, so I think someone just put that story out there so the place would get a bunch of press.”

Former tennis star Anna Kournikova has squashed a bunch of rumors that have been doing the rounds in a new interview with Sports Illustrated.

Once given the title of “the most downloaded female on the planet”, Kournikova has withdrawn from public life and hasn’t played a WTA Tour match in five years.

Madonna Speaks Out: No Divorce, No Affair

Madonna has taken the unprecedented step of personally addressing the myriad of rumors that have recently plagued the singer and her husband, Guy Ritchie, saying that they are not getting a divorce and she is not having an affair.
The 49-year-old singer has been in the headlines over the last couple of weeks, after rumors circulated claiming that her marriage is on the rocks, and that she is having an affair with New York Yankee’s player Alex Rodriguez, whose marriage recently ended.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the material girl says, “My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.”

Christina Applegate’s Boyfriend Found Dead In Hollywood

Lee Grivas, on-off boyfriend of ‘Samantha Who?’ star Christina Applegate, was found dead in his Hollywood Apartment on Tuesday (July 1).

The body of the 26-year-old was found by his neighbor, according to TMZ, with no visible signs of trauma apparent.

Applegate, 36, released a statement about Grivas, who she had been dating on-and-off for several years, saying, “I am profoundly saddened. Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life.”

She adds, “He is missed beyond words. He touched so many and I feel much sadness for his mother, father, brother, and all of his family and friends.”

The couple reportedly met in 2005, when Applegate was starring on stage in ‘Sweet Charity’ in Chicago.

Mandy Moore Splits From Partner Ryan Adams

Singer and actress Mandy Moore has split with her boyfriend, musician Ryan Adams, who sent a statement to Ok! Magazine confirming the split.

The couple, who have been dating since December last year, broke up recently, Adams says.

Shannen Doherty Confirms Discussions With 90210 Producers

Former ‘Beverly Hills 90210′ bad girl Shannen Doherty has been talking with the producers of the new series, about a role on the new spin-off set to debut later this year.

“Yes, Shannen is in discussions with the CW to be on the new ‘Beverly Hills 90210′,” her rep confirmed to Usmagazine.

If Doherty joins the show, she’ll be joining her old castmates Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, who have both signed on to reprise their roles in the zipcode that made them household names around the world.

Rodney Jerkins to Helm Britney Come Back

Grammy winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins says he’s teaming up with pop star Britney Spears on her next album, saying the pair have been working on some “dancey, really up-tempo, aggressive” material.

Jerkins spoke to Rap-Up TV at Interscope Geffen A&M’s Creme of the Crop dinner in Los Angeles, where he revealed that he’s “trying some new things [with Spears]”

“I’ve always worked with Britney and I love working with her,” he said. “I’m try to reinvent her and reinvent myself with her project.”

Jerkins, who has previously worked with Destiny’s Child, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, will produce two tracks on Spears’ upcoming, as-yet-untitled record.

He last worked with the pop star seven years ago on her self-titled ‘Britney’ album, producing the remix for ‘Overprotected’ and ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’.

Spears has been the ultimate professional during their collaborations, Jerkins said, and she works swiftly; during a recent studio session, Britney “walked in at 8:30 and was out by 10:30.” He adds, “It’s about to be her time again.”

Madonna’s Reps Deny Break-Up Rumors

Madonna's rep has lashed out at the ongoing speculation of a divorce between the Material Girl and her husband Guy Ritchie, saying there are “no plans” for a split.

The famous couple have made headlines recently with reports stating they had each hired lawyers to commence divorce proceedings and that Ritchie had flown to New York in an attempt to save his marriage.

Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s longtime manager and friend, told People, “Madonna’s husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce.”

She also addressed another tabloid report that alleged the singer was having an affair with New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez saying, “Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There’s really not anything to comment on beyond that.”

Rosenberg adds, “It’s nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna’s way lately – much of it untrue. By the way, rumors of Madonna and Lil Wayne are quite exaggerated, as well.”
