Jessica Alba has opened up to Elle magazine about giving birth, losing the baby weight and being a mom to her eight-month old daughter, Honor, saying that working out post-baby has been “horrible”.
The 27-year-old actress says that giving birth was less difficult then losing the baby weight.
“Contractions aren’t that bad. If you’ve ever had bad cramps? That’s what they’re like,” she says.
“But that moment when they put the baby on your chest – that’s deep. It’s a deep experience.”
When Jessica began exercising for the 2009 Campari calendar shoot, where the actress looked stunning and in fine form, she says the workouts “were horrible”.
“I cried,” Alba tells February Elle. “And I haven’t worked out since.”
The actress also finds it tough being away from her daughter with Alba admitting, “This is the first time I’ve been away from her. It’s been six days. It sucks; it’s the worst thing ever. But we Skype, so I can see her on video. The worst is when you can see her little chubby hands grab the screen, and I’m not there.”
Wiping away tears the Alba continues, “That’s a new thing – I never cried before. Just being a mother is making me a big, weepy mess.”
