Reese Witherspoon and boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal have reportedly called it quits on their relationship.

The couple reportedly took the decision to end it two weeks ago despite the fact they denied reports of a split at the time. Witherspoon, 33, and Gyllenhaal, 28, have been dating since meeting on the set of the 2007 movie Rendition. Their reps are not commenting on the split but sources say that it is completely amicable.

Jessica Simpson asked for popcorn when she went to see sister Ashlee's Broadway debut - mistakenly thinking she was at the cinema, it has been claimed.

The singer and actress fancied a snack when she went to the first performance of Chicago last month. But the 29-year-old drew laughter from theatregoers when she tried to get popcorn.

A source said: "She asked for popcorn in the lobby.

"Poor thing thought she was at a movie."
