Natalie Portman Launches New Website
Natalie Portman told a crowd gathered at the Soho Apple store in New York on Friday (April 24) that you won’t see her doing a makeup campaign anytime soon, as she’d rather be concentrating on her new project, a website called MakingOf.com.
The 27- year-old actress has teamed with Christine Aylward to launch the behind-the-scenes film making site, saying in a statement, “We started MakingOf because we realized that so much of what goes into entertainment creation is unavailable to the people who love and consume it the most. We wanted to give fans a way to experience that creation and learn from the insiders and thus MakingOf was born.”
During her chat with fans, Portman explains that this is a passion project and one she wants to concentrate on, rather than plugging a cosmetic range for cash.
“I don’t have a problem with making money, but I don’t believe in doing something you don’t believe in to make money,” she said.
“Like a makeup campaign or something like that — the opportunities that young actors have all the time. This is an exciting model to do something you really believe in and create something positive out of that. That’s my goal. And it seems like a lot of people are coming around to that model. It’s possible to do something positive in the world that’s still entrepreneurial.”
