Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal call it quits

Reese Witherspoon and boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal have reportedly called it quits on their relationship.

The couple reportedly took the decision to end it two weeks ago despite the fact they denied reports of a split at the time. Witherspoon, 33, and Gyllenhaal, 28, have been dating since meeting on the set of the 2007 movie Rendition. Their reps are not commenting on the split but sources say that it is completely amicable.

Reese and Jake Go Public

Despite endless speculation and a slew of on again/off again rumors, Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have finally come out as a couple. If by “couple” you mean “a beard and its gay.” The Daily Mail reports

The pair met on set of the upcoming movie Rendition and have now taken their romance public - they were spotted holding hands and canoodling during a romantic trip to Rome.



Witherspoon, whose divorce from former husband Ryan Phillippe was finalised this month, had previously denied a romance with the Brokeback Mountain star. Now it’s clear their love affair is most definitely back on.

Ryan And Reese Back Together?

Are these little souffle heads back together? According to Page Six Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon are trying to work out their "whatever they have" even though they broke up ages ago. The pair split last October.

A source said, "They met for lunch this week at the Votre Sante health-food restaurant, a regular Brentwood haunt for Reese on San Vicente. And they're going on runs together around the Brentwood Country Club. Both are regular, dedicated runners."

"Running is a very healing, meditative thing, so maybe it will work its magic on them."

"Reese and Ryan are trying to work it out. They are still close."

Ryan's rep said it wasn't true.

Reese has also been seen in the company of Jake Gylleenhaal recently, but I'm telling you that's just two girls having fun. Just a little gab over a frap.

Ryan and Reese belong together. Both have the personality of a beet and not even a bright, beautiful purple beet, but those fugly yellow ones.

Reese Witherspoon Isn't GLAAD

Reese Witherspoon, who's supposedly been "dating" Jake Gyllenhaal for the past two months, is reportedly furious after Jake shared a kiss and a long embrace with Jennifer Aniston as he presented her with a GLAAD Vanguard Award earlier this month. As source says:

It wasn't just a polite peck on the cheek. There was definitely feeling in that embrace. When Reese heard about it, she broke down in tears asking, 'Why would he do that?' She is very unhappy about it...She always thought Jake was intelligent and charming. That's why she's so stunned by the photographs of Jake and Jen. She's really hurt by what she's seen. They seem to be very explicit and everyone knows Jennifer's looking for love."

Ashlee And Ryan Hook Up?

We were just wondering what Ashlee has been up to lately and if we are to believe the rumors - it's Ryan Phillippe (Reese Witherspoon’s ex!). The two were apparently getting cozy at a Hollywood club.

A reporter said they “spent about two hours chatting while Ryan was mixing vodka cocktails, and they were giggling and having a great time.”



On the flip side, another version has come out stating that Ashlee “tried” to pick up Ryan but was denied. So what have we learned? Well, clearly they were at the same place at the same time and most likely even talking. But as for how far Ashlee got I guess time will tell.

Meanwhile, are Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal more then just co-stars on their new film “Rendition?” The two have been spotted leaving each others respective homes and hotel rooms amongst being a little more than just friends on the set. Could this explain why Reese looked especially smiley while shopping in Beverly Hills?

Reese Bails On "Bunny" Film

Reese Witherspoon has backed out of a big movie in which she was slated to star and produce. Now Sources can reveal why Reese bailed.

The movie, "Bunny Lake Is Missing," was to be a remake of Otto Preminger's 1965 film about a woman whose daughter disappears from a nursery school. Cops then try to convince the woman that her daughter was a figment of her imagination.



Reports were initially circulating that Witherspoon did not feel emotionally invested in the film, and that her psyche was fragile in the wake of her divorce from Ryan Phillippe.

But a well-placed, high-powered Hollywood insider tells sources that the problem had nothing to do with emotions. We're told Reese signed onto the project after being presented with the idea and a draft script. Last week, Reese was presented with what she thought would be a completed script, but turned out to be 80 pages that had major sections of the movie outlined but not written.

As the deadline approached for a summer shooting, Witherspoon exercised her option not to approve the incomplete script and withdrew as the star of the project. Reese worried about people who wouldn't have a job shooting this summer. "She's just as disappointed as anybody," the source says. "She's not working too."

Reese Fires Her Agents

Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon has fired her Hollywood agents at Endeavor and moved over to Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

The move is the second agency switch for the actress since the retirement of longtime agent Steve Dontanville, who discovered and signed Witherspoon when she was 13. While at Endeavor, she made the upcoming thriller Rendition, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep and signed on for the remake of Bunny Lake is Missing.

A source tells veteran Hollywood columnist Nikki Finke Witherspoon's recent split from husband Ryan Phillippe could have played a part in her decision saying, "Going through a divorce causes people to do a re-examination." The Walk The Line star is considered to be one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood where she commands an average of $15 million per picture.
